A companion piece to the previous sculpture, Bleached Coral Covered Container, Guardian of the Sea, evokes the beauty and lush habitat of healthy coral reefs.
The knob is “the crown” of this covered container, abstracted to resemble a Japanese samurai warrior helmet. The word, Samurai, also means “to serve.”
We need to serve as guardians of the earth.
